Immediately following the surgery, the young patient is likely to spend time in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Under the clinical direction of Rene Chalom, M.D., the pediatric surgeon collaborates on the postoperative care and works up an individualized plan for recovery and discharge.
