May 1, 2020 – To express their appreciation for the frontline health care workers and staff at Richmond University Medical Center members of the community and Christ Church-New Brighton provided a flock of rainbow flamingos outside the hospital’s main entrance on Bard Avenue in West Brighton. Each flamingo was adorned with a colored balloon and the flock was accompanied by signs that said “thank you” and “heroes.”
“This gesture from the parishioners at Christ Church means so much to our staff,” president and chief executive officer, Dr. Daniel J. Messina, said. “The outpouring of support and love from the community throughout this time is so uplifting to our staff who are saving lives each and every day. From the bottom of everyone’s heart here at RUMC, thank you to everyone at Christ Church-New Brighton and the entire community.”
