Subaru and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donate Blankets, Art Kits to RUMC Pediatrics

Monday, July 16, 2018 – Representatives from Subaru of America and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society delivered over 80 blankets and arts and crafts kits to pediatric patients at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC). The donation was part of the “Subaru Loves to Care” program which has delivered blankets, messages of hope, and arts and crafts kits to 70,000 patients in more than 400 hospitals over the past two years.

“On behalf of the patients and their families, I would like to extend my thanks to both Subaru and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for their generosity and compassion,” Daniel J. Messina, President and CEO of RUMC said. “Being in a hospital can be difficult, especially for a child. Anything that can help them while they recover or undergo treatment has a greater impact than words can say. These blankets and kits will put smiles on many faces.”

To present the blankets and kits to RUMC were Greg and Clay Kemp from Staten Island Subaru and Mara Hermano and Michelle Silecchia from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Accepting the donation was Messina, Dr. Joan Graziano, Chief of Hematology, and Rebecca Sherman, Child Life Specialist.
