Richmond University Medical Center Sets Up Hotline for COVID-19 Anxiety

March 17, 2020 – To support people feeling stressed or full of anxiety as a result of the rapidly clanging developments around COVID-19, Richmond University Medical Center has set up a 24-hour hotline the public can call and speak with clinical staff from the hospital’s department of psychiatry & behavioral sciences. The number is 718-818-6300. All conversations and information will be kept confidential.

“Our 24 hour hotline will connect people directly with our experts who can answer questions, and provide tips on handling their stress and anxiety levels,” president and chief executive officer, Daniel J. Messina, PhD, FACHE, said. “We want to help people make sense of everything that is changing so rapidly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sometimes people just need to talk to someone to feel a little bit better. We want people to know we are here for them.”

Following a merger with Staten Island Mental Health Society in 2019, Richmond University Medical Center is now Staten Island’s leading provider of behavioral health services for adults, adolescents and children.
