Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Center Grand Opening

Our new Cardiac Rehabilitation Center ribbon cutting took place August 7, 2018 on the ground floor of the Residents’ Building behind the hospital. Without a cardiac rehab facility on Staten Island for several years, residents were forced to go to other boroughs or New Jersey for this important service, but that will no longer be the case. The center will provide patients with a dedicated place to access the latest programs, equipment, and medical personnel to assist in their recovery. Establishing a dedicated cardiopulmonary rehab center is essential to RUMC’s continuing mission to reduce morbidity and disability from cardiac and pulmonary disease through education, prevention, rehabilitation, and aggressive disease management.

Over 100 people attended the ribbon cutting ceremony along with several Staten Island elected officials. Instrumental in making the center a reality was Staten Island Borough President James Oddo who helped cut the ribbon to officially open the center.
