Coronavirus infection rate up slightly on S.I., death rate continues to drop citywide

STATEN ISLAND – A total of eight Staten Islanders have succumbed to the coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past seven days, while health officials are reporting a slight uptick in the rate at which residents are testing positive.

One death was reported from Saturday to Sunday, in addition to 16 new positive cases, according to city Department of Health data.
