STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- He might be the most punctual baby of the decade.

The first baby delivered on Staten Island in 2020 was born at exactly midnight on Wednesday at Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, the hospital announced.

New parents Michelle and Anthony Saraceno, of Eltingville, rang in the new year by welcoming their son Anthony, who weighs 7 pounds, 9 ounces.

“We are still in shock. We never expected he would come right at midnight,” Anthony Sr. told the Advance. “He didn’t want to miss the party.”

Anthony Sr. said that his wife was not actually due with their first child until Jan. 23.

The couple went to the hospital on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.

“We are doing great,” he said of the now family-of-three.

Little Anthony is officially tied for the title of first New York City baby of the decade; Aidan Zobnin was also born at midnight at Coney Island Hospital, according to the New York Post.

The first baby born at Staten Island University Hospital, a girl, came at 12:40 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

The happy parents are Rabbi Jacob Birnbaum and his wife Esther, of Brooklyn.

The couple named their 6 pound, 11 ounce baby Blimy for Esther’s maternal great-grandmother, according to the hospital.
