Chief of Medicine, Senior Vice President/ Chief Medical Officer

In July 2017, Richmond University Medical Center welcomed Mitchell (Mitch) Fogel, MD as Chief of Medicine, Senior Vice President/Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Fogel received his Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University and his Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship in nephrology at Boston Medical Center (MA). He has over 25 years as a practicing nephrologist and comes to us most recently from St. Vincent’s in Bridgeport, CT where he served as Chair of the
Department of Medicine. Prior to serving as Chair, he was the Chief Academic Officer at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and Founding Chair, Department of Medicine, Frank Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. Dr. Fogel also served for 18 years as the Medical Director of DaVita, one of the largest kidney care organizations in the United States. He is a highly regarded clinician and physician leader. Dr. Fogel is well-published and has received many honors in Medicine.
Dr. Fogel will be leading new and expanded efforts for growth as well as collaborating with the entire Richmond University team to ensure the delivery of efficient and high quality outcomes.
