We are now accepting applications for our Student Nurse Externship program, which will run June 10, 2024 – August 23, 2024.

Program Highlights

Must be accepted in the nursing program and completed Fundamental/Intro of Nursing coursework. Completion of one clinical course in a hospital setting is required.

Program Details

Commitment to a minimum 5-week work/educational program is essential. Nurse externs are expected to rotate on all three shifts. Those applicants requiring special scheduling arrangements will be addressed on an individual basis.
All externs will receive a certificate of completion to include in their professional portfolio.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum GPA for acceptance? No, however preference is given to GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Do I need official transcripts? Yes

Is this a paid externship? The pay for this valuable educational experience is approximately $15 per hour.

What uniforms will I need? White pants or skirt and a scrub top of a specified color to be discussed in interview.

What shift will I be working? Externs must be willing and able to work all shifts. Schedules will be discussed at interview.

When will interviews be conducted? Interviews will be scheduled beginning the week of May 27, 2024

What can I do to prepare for the interview? Plan Ahead. Research our facility and the position if possible. Review your work experiences, and be ready to speak to career and school accomplishments with specific information targeted towards our needs.

This is a competitive job interview, dress professionally.

Be on time. It is best to arrive at the interview area 5 minutes before the scheduled interview time.

When will selections be made? Selections will be made at the end of the entire interview process for all candidates. Notifications will be made by May 31, 2024.

How many positions are available? We plan to accept 10-15 externs.
