Lynne Conhagen Persing’s long work career began with Alfred Conhagen, Inc./USMP Co., her family’s Marine and Industrial Pump, turbine, and compressor business founded in 1942 by her father. During her time at Conhagen, she rose from office manager to director of human resources, manager of payroll and pensions, and then to corporate secretary. Lynne served on the Board of Directors of the Conhagen corporations located in New Jersey, Texas, California, Louisiana, and Florida.
During a break from the family business to be more accessible to her young children, Lynne went to work for the YMCA Counseling Service as an administrative assistant and often provided counseling when no one else was available. For many years, she worked for several brokerage firms as an administrative assistant, wire operator, and bond coordinator.
She joined the South Shore Rotary in 2018 and is currently serving as COO, Speaker Chairman, and Scholarship Chairman. Lynne serves on the board of both the Staten Island Philharmonic and the Cross Road Foundation. She is also a member of the Staten Island Giving Circle, Friends of CSI, and the Richmond Evergreen Garden Club. In her spare time, she studies tap, jazz, singing, acting, Pilates, and tennis. Lynne is also a member of the Staten Island Ballroom Association.
Lynne has been honored by the JCC Sunrise Day Camp, Staten Island Advance—2024 Woman of Achievement, the Staten Island Giving Circle, the Staten Island Ballet, the S.I. Community Soroptimist, South Shore Rotary, and Eger Harbor House.
