Generally, physicians consider surgical procedures only after patients have exhausted other treatment options, pain and other symptoms are worsening, or a patient’s ailment affects their quality of life.

Physicians thoroughly evaluate every patient to ensure surgery is the best course of action and that patients are fit to undergo procedures. During examinations, physicians address a wide range of health topics, such as allergy information, current medications, and family medical history. In some cases, they also may perform blood tests and X-rays.

Robotic Surgery

With the assistance of a robot and small surgical tools attached to the arms to perform the procedure, surgeons can deliver a variety of minimally invasive procedures, including:

  • Smaller incisions
