Vittorio Rotella, M.D., Associate Chairman of Surgery, Division Chief of Vascular Surgery
Dr. Rotella is a board-certified vascular surgeon responsible for the vascular services at Richmond University Medical Center. He comes to Staten Island after completing a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Temple University in Philadelphia and five years as a general surgeon in private practice.
The Division of Vascular Surgery works with the Certified Vascular Laboratory at Richmond University Medical Center, interventional radiology and your referring physician to diagnose and treat vascular-related disease. The service provides a full range of advanced vascular therapies and surgeries, including stenting, DVT/PE prophylaxis, dialysis support, endovascular repair for aortic aneurysm and stroke prevention by carotid surgery and carotid stents.
As a New York State Designated Stroke Center, the Division of Vascular Surgery works collaboratively with the stroke team that provides interventions for stroke patients presenting in the Emergency Department. Richmond University Medical Center was recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association as a 2011 GOLD PLUS Award winner for their performance in treating stroke patients.
