Dr. Song is Chief of Vascular Surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and specializing in surgery for carotid disease, aortic aneurysms and hemodialysis access. Dr. Song is also Assistant Professor of Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. Xin Li is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and expert in endovascular surgery and peripheral vascular disease as well as hemodialysis access. Dr. Li is also Assistant Professor of Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
The Division of Vascular Surgery works with the Certified Vascular Laboratory at Richmond University Medical Center, interventional radiology and your referring physician to diagnose and treat vascular-related disease. The service provides a full range of advanced vascular therapies and surgeries, including stenting, DVT/PE prophylaxis, dialysis support and access, endovascular repair for aortic aneurysm and occlusive vascular diseases, and stroke prevention by carotid surgery and carotid stents.
As a New York State Designated Stroke Center, the Division of Vascular Surgery works collaboratively with the stroke team that provides interventions for stroke patients presenting in the Emergency Department. Richmond University Medical Center was recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association as a 2011 GOLD PLUS Award winner for their performance in treating stroke patients.
