Radiology

At RUMC, we offer various imaging modalities, including:

  • CT
  • Mammography
  • Ultrasound
  • Nuclear medicine
  • Gastrointestinal and genitourinary radiology
  • Interventional radiology

Board-certified and board-qualified radiologists offer the services provided with advanced subspecialty fellowship training in their areas of expertise.

The Vascular Interventional Radiology Department performs approximately 2,000 procedures each year. We offer diagnostic angiography, which is used to precisely locate blockages. Balloon angioplasty and intravascular stents are performed to improve blood flow to arteries. Central venous catheters are also used to enhance delivery of chemotherapy drugs, fluids, blood or other medications. Arterial and venous thrombolysis procedures are routinely used for the treatment of blood clots. Embolization procedures, including uterine artery embolizations, are used to stop excessive bleeding and pain. Other procedures, such as TIPS, IVC filters, dialysis graft thrombolysis, drainages and biopsies are also routinely performed.

We offer weekday appointments for vascular interventional radiology and offer evening and weekend appointments for the other modalities. We participate in all major insurance plans and HMOs.

Patients can call 718-818-3280 to schedule an appointment.
